Speaker: Sgt Wes Wilson
Bio: Wes Wilson has served with the Bartlett Police Department in Bartlett, Tennessee, for nineteen years. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Memphis and later completed a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Bethel University while continuing his law enforcement career.
Throughout his time with Bartlett, Wes has served in a variety of roles, including Patrol Officer, Crime Suppression Unit member, Traffic Investigator, Field Training Officer, and Instructor. In 2014, he became the department’s first certified Drug Recognition Expert.
While working with the traffic unit, he served as a Network Coordinator for Shelby and Tipton Counties with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office and has instructed in areas such as impaired driving, radar, instructor development, and field training. He has also served as an adjunct instructor with the University of Tennessee at Martin, teaching dual-enrollment criminal justice courses at Arlington High School.
In 2025, Wes was promoted to Sergeant and assigned to the Investigative Services Division. In this role, he primarily focuses on financial crimes, cyber crimes, and digital forensics. He has also been active in developing presentations for citizens to help educate the community about fraud prevention and awareness.
